Long Term Planning – The Japanese Way
Here’s an except from the book entitled: “Swim with the Sharks Without Being Eaten Alive: Outsell, Outmanage, Outmotivate, and Outnegotiate Your Competition” by Harvey B. Mackay on a business visit to a eighty eight years old president of a well established Japanese company, Matsushita Electric:
Question: “Mr President, does your company have long range goals?”
Answer: “Yes.”
Question: “How long are your long range goals?”
Answer: “Two Hundread and fifty years.”
Question: “What do you need to carry them out?”
Answer: “Patience.”

How long is your long term planning and how well has it work for you?

Perhaps it is time to rethink – be it in this economic climate or otherwise.
